The Birth of Rhophys Couture

The name originates from the authenticity of both parents who raised a champion in a girl. 

Founder of Rhophys Couture – Grace Kargobai, was raised by a family of keen Africans from Sierra Leone. They were more so than ever, the foundation to all of what she establishes and enjoys doing. 

So at the time she thought of a name to her brand, she knew there and then that combining both her mum and dad’s name will birth the required fusion she needed to create a powerhouse. Rhophys is a dream in many ways and a vision awaiting accomplishment.

For Grace, creating ready to wear or bespoke outfits for her clients is an intimate process that she doesn’t take lightly. Every design is a priority, and she treats every client with the same iota of respect and importance.

So in all this, she garners her inspiration from family, specifically her elder sister, mum and dad. She credits these three people for what she has learnt and what she continues to do in her designs.

Elegance with a taste of simplicity

Grace embeds simplicity and contemporary detail in her statement pieces. It mattered to her that style came from an innate place of self-confidence and the desire to dress oneself in the comfort of their skin.

While she continues to learn and put her designs out there, she is grounded by the very principles of what fashion means to her: own your style.

In every piece, she hopes that a client sees their style in it and own it. Also, creating an endless need for the outfit and an excellent love relationship that is admired by all.
